David Duke Jr Balls Out Against The Cleveland Charge in a Huge Home Victory

The Long Island Nets defeated the Cleveland Charge Wednesday with a final score 109-105. After tonight’s victory, Long Island has now won three straight games for the first time this season. Things weren’t going the team’s way earlier on in the season but a win at home especially after starting the fourth quarter down 86-79.

Head coach Adam Caporn was proud about his squad’s performance discussing how his team is starting to believe in themselves and are showing enthusiasm. “Veteran players have come in and played a role and the young guys are great workers, it’s truly a luxury to have” Caporn said.

Guard, David Duke Jr, had a career high 30 points in the game and lead both teams with four steals; a big contributor to forcing Cleveland to 25 turnovers.

Duke Jr said after the game that he was trying to “emphasize the team to get stops and help each other communicate on defense. It helps us get out in transition which is our biggest asset” he said. The ability to get out in space and create open shots made all the difference facing a Charge team that dominated the boards.

The loss for the Charge is their seventh in their last eight games. Committing 25 turnovers in the game was the ultimate reason for their downfall. After coming back from a ten point deficit in the first quarter and holding a lead after the third, the Nets were just the better team in crunch time rallying for 30 points in the fourth quarter.

With four players in double figures tonight, The Nets will look to keep their momentum going when they host the charge once again to extend their three game win streak on Friday.
