IBS Awards 2025

On Friday March 7th and Saturday March 8th, the Brave New Radio crew had the amazing opportunity to attend the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Awards! Since 1940, the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System is an organization of volunteers dedicated to educating and offering wisdom to both high school and college media outlets and organizations. This year, Brave New Radio was nominated for 5 categories of recognition:

• Best Public Affairs Program: Election Misinformation

• Aria Capria, Alexander Felix, Brooke Holzhauer, and Alex Gonzalez

• This program was a collaborative effort between Journalism, WPTV, and the radio station and it was produced for Student News Live

•  The audio portion aired on 88.7 WPSC on Election Day.

• Best Radio Station Broadcast ID: Top Of Hour Legal ID Paterson Waterfalls

• Raphael Trastroy

• Best Baseball/Softball Play-by-Play: William Paterson University Baseball Comeback Win

• Andrew Gavin & Tyler Cooper

• Best Website: 88.7 Brave New Radio

Although Brave New Radio didn’t take home any awards this past weekend, it still remains such an important honor to have been nominated and recognized in this nationwide opportunity!
