Assistant Sports Director, Anthony Walker, and Promotions Director, Nick Wilkerson AKA YungWolf, were granted the opportunity to speak to New York Knicks members, RJ Barrett and Taj Gibson, and their coach, Tom Thibodeau, during pre-game and post-game interviews on Thursday, January 20th for their game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The New York Knicks were defeated by the New Orleans Pelicans Thursday night by a final score of 102-91. New Orleans snapped a five-game road losing streak, while New York drops their third straight game.

“The last six games, we have this inconsistency that we have to fix,” Head Coach Tom Thibodeau said to the media following the loss. “We can win games with our defense and our rebounding if we take care of the ball,” he continued.

After trailing by as much as 25 points, the Knicks stormed back to within 10 late in the fourth quarter on the backs of Quentin Grimes, Alec Burks, and Immanuel Quickley. However, New Orleans was able to hang on and pick up a fairly comfortable 11-point win.

Julius Randle struggled, going 1-9 from the floor and 0-2 from beyond the arc. Teammate Taj Gibson said after the game that he’s not worried about the star forward, despite his rough game. “He’s a professional and he’s a great guy,” Gibson reassured reporters.

Meanwhile, RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson led the charge offensively for the Knicks, as the duo scored 17 points each to go along with 15 rebounds from Robinson. They shot a combined 12-20 from the field, while the rest of the team went 23-70.

For New Orleans, Jonas Valenciunas was too much for the Knicks to handle, scoring 18 points with 10 rebounds. Rookie and Brooklyn native Jose Alvarado put on a show himself, scoring a career-high 13 points.

New York will host the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, as the Pelicans will have the weekend off and play the Pacers on Monday in Louisiana.
