Grammy’s 2022
The Grammy’s opened with beautiful music and heartfelt speeches. The CEO of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Junior, kicked off the 64th event and the chair of the National Board of Trustees of the Recording Academy, Tammy Hurt, delivered an inspiring speech, reminding us that music is the universal language. Levar Burton announced the rules, probably knowing the 45 second speech rule would be hard to obey, and the winner announcements commenced. Among a sea of artists and supporters, the best artists of the year shared their love for music and celebrated each other’s successes.
Performances
The awards ceremony was interspersed with performances by various nominees and winners.
Alison Russell, nominee for three awards, provided a truly mesmerizing performance of her song “Night Flyer.”
Silk Sonic performed their award-winning song “Leave the Door Open.” Lady Gaga performed “Love for Sale” and “Do You Love Me.”
Billie Eillish performed her award-nominated song “Happier Than Ever,” opening the song in an upside-down room with her feet submerged in water.
Justin Bieber provided an acoustic performance of his award nominated song “Peaches.”
Other performances included Nas, John Legend, and BTS.
