Rumble Ponies Fall Short in Pitcher’s Duel Against Erie

View From Home plate as the Ponies Pitched to the Wolves

In the 5th leg of a 6-game series against the Erie Seawolves, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies fell by a score of 3-1 to drop to 5-14 on the season. The Seawolves, who improved to 12-8, were led by designated hitter Dylan Dingler who had a 2 hit, 2 RBI performance. The Rumble Ponies were led in hitting by Zach Ashford who picked up a hit and an RBI in 4 at bats. In a game that was dominated by pitching the Erie staff only gave up 4 hits in the entire game led by reliver Chance Kirby who gave up no runs on 2 hits and struck out 4 in 3.2 innings of work. The Ponies’ pitching staff was spearheaded by starting pitcher Mitch Ragan who pitched 4 innings and gave up no runs on 3 hits while striking out 5. The name of this game was miss opportunities for the Rumble Ponies who left 19 runners on base in the competition. The Rumble Ponies will play the Seawolves tomorrow May 1st, in a final showdown in this series which has seen the Seawolves take 4 of the 5 games that have been played so far.
